                                                                             VINEYARDS

Pewen Wines has vines that are more than 25 years old on its 200-hectare estate, which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

During the ripening period,in January and February, the temperature ranges from a minimum of 11°C to a maximum of 34°C.

This temperature variation promotes concentrated tannins that enhance aromas and colors, especially in the red varieties.

The temperate Mediterranean climate has a 4 to 5 month dry season with cold, moderate rainy winters and approximately 600mm of annual precipitation.

                                                                                    Curico Valley

The Curico Valley is currently one of the most well-known wine regions in Chile.

The day-night temperature fluctuation has a positive effect on the development and ripening of aromas and polyphenols in our grapes. Although the summer sunshine is intense, cool afternoon breezes from the ocean contribute to the gradual ripening process that gives grapes the best color and fragrance.

                                                                         Colchagua Valley

The Colchagua Valley, in central Chile, is one of the most promising wine regions.

Some of Chile's finest red wines are made in the valley, mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Syrah.

This valley has warm and dry climate, but it is cooled by ocean breeze and refreshed by rivers and occasional rainfalls.

                                                                              Maule Valley

The Maule Valley is slightly cooler than its northerly cousins and has higher annual precipitation, most of which occurs during winter. The intensity of the sunlight is high and Maule is favoured with warm days followed by much colder nights, extending the growing season and leading to a balance of ripeness and acidity in the grapes.
